Drums have certainly made a BIG difference on our upcoming album, Bottom of the Deck, which will be released in early 2019. We are SO glad, and fortunate, to have had Tony Morris from Austin, Texas join us in the recording studio for all 10 tracks!
Tony is a multi-instrumentalist musician, broadcaster and writer. He began playing drums and guitar at age 12 in North Little Rock, Arkansas, and performed and competed as a drummer in concert band, marching band, and jazz band in Jr. High and High School. At age 16 he focused primarily on guitar, began performing in local rock bands, and began teaching guitar at age 19. At 22, he shifted his focus from rock to classical guitar and earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in classical guitar performance from the University of South Carolina and the University of Texas at Austin. He is the Executive Director of the Classical Guitar Alive (CGA) nonprofit organization, which produces the award-winning Classical Guitar Alive! syndicated public radio program which airs each week on over 200 NPR stations across the USA and internationally, including 89.5 FM KMFA in Austin and Texas Public Radio in San Antonio, and is currently in its 21st year of national syndication.
Although Tony's emphasis is classical guitar, you wouldn't know it listening to him perform on drums... and you won't when you hear him play on the new album.
All of us are really excited about releasing some tracks from the upcoming album over the next few weeks beginning with Daddy Daughter Dance later this month. Stay tuned to the blog for the official release date!
Until then y'all, listen to some good tunes, dance a step or two, SMILE, and be kind to everyone you encounter!
