Howdy!
As we approach the release date of Wilson County's first new music since the release of C.R. 434, I have to tell you that we are pretty excited; excited that the new songs are even better than the songs on that first album that so many of you love; excited that we have added Tony Morris on drums to the mix (more about Tony in another post); and really excited and honored to have Ron Knuth playing his fiddle with us on several of the new tracks!
Ron is a very well known and accomplished fiddle player who has played with pretty much anybody who is anybody in Nashville, and beyond. He has played with Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Jr., John Prine, Steven Stills, Roy Orbison, Jerry Jeff Walker, Gary P. Nunn, Mary Ann Price, and Rusty Weir, to name just a few. So, to say the least, we are very honored to have hosted Ron in our Studio 2.0 to record several songs with us.
When Ron plays his fiddle it is almost a magical experience for the listener! His playing is always poignant, providing a rich and powerful undercurrent for the song. This is certainly true on Daddy Daughter Dance, which will be released later this month and is a track from our upcoming album Bottom of the Deck, to be released early 2019. More about the song and album later. Be sure to stay tuned!
Until next time friend, listen to some good tunes, dance a step or two, SMILE, and be kind to everyone you encounter!
Bill
